Hey, Wake Forest and happy weekend! My name is Avery Finch, and I’m a Wake Forest sophomore and writer for the Old Gold & Black. On Fridays I’ll be taking over the OGB newsletter to help students discover fun things to do in and around Winston-Salem. Without further ado, here’s your ninth Weekend in Winston guide, courtesy of me and my Google expertise:

Happy Friday! It’s the first of December and we are almost to our last week of classes. Two more weeks until break!
Bert Kreischer Tops Off World Tour
Comedian Bert Kreischer will be performing at LJVM Coliseum as part of his Tops Off World Tour.

Tanglewood's Festival of Lights
Tanglewood’s annual Festival of Lights are back for the holiday season, so grab your friends and pile in a car because it’s $20 per vehicle. Or, if you are feeling it, $90 for a horse and carriage or $165 for a tractor-pulled hayride through the light show. You will also be able to enjoy a gift shop and s’mores in the gift village.

Cowboy Beepop Live at The Ramkat
The Ramkat will be hosting its Cowboy Bebop Live with a screening on the big screen and live music by The Bebop Bounty Big Band.

It’s beginning to feel like Christmas in Winston, so go enjoy the holiday activities!
Run or walk this 5K and a half marathon through Winston Salem’s Buena Vista neighborhood, the Graylyn, Reynolda House and Gardens and Wake Forest’s campus. Proceeds will benefit the YMCA.
7:30 a.m.
Head downtown for the WS Ambassadors Holiday Parade with unicycles, horses, floats, dogs, Bolt (WS Dash), Santa and grand marshal Burgess Jenkins.

City Tree Lighting Celebration
Watch the Downtown Winston Salem tree lighting to kick off the holiday season.
Where: Corpening Plaza 237 W. 1st St.
When: 6:00 p.m.
Sayso Coffee will be having a winter market with food trucks, crafts and vendors.
9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Learn to make a Moravian star with master star maker Ken Manuel.

Roar will be having its Holiday Market offering local makers and artists, food, crafts and carolers.

It’s Sunday — get that work done, relax and check out these events! But, make sure tosave time for one of Wake Forest’s most cherished traditions:
One of Wake Forest’s most cherished traditions and the largest Moravian-style lovefeast in North America is finally here! The event is first come first serve and very popular, so plan accordingly.

At the Winston Salem Fairgrounds Education Building HanesBrands will be having a Community Product Sale with brands like Champion, Hanes, Bali and Maidenform. Proceeds will go to the YWCA and United Way of Forsyth County.
