Your ultimate Parents Weekend guide
Old Gold & Black writer Avery Finch tells you what to do in Winston-Salem this weekend.
Hi there, my name is Avery Finch, and I’m a Wake Forest sophomore and writer for the Old Gold & Black. On Friday, I’ll be taking over the OGB newsletter to help students discover fun things to do around Winston- Salem. Finding new and exciting weekend plans can be difficult sometimes, so I’m here to make it easier and, hopefully, a lot more fun. So, here’s your first Weekend in Winston guide.
The Parents Weekend Edition
Are you new to Winston? Been here a while? Are your parents pestering you about places to visit this weekend while they’re in town? Or are you a seasoned veteran and tired of taking them to the same three places and sitting in your hotel room staring at each other? Well, you’re in the right place. Parents not here? No problem, we have you covered too.
Other than a campus tour, grocery shopping or a walk around Hanes Mall, there are many other things to do in Winston-Salem. Here’s your new and improved Parents Weekend itinerary, courtesy of me and my Google expertise:
